Hey guys, the first three months of 2022 have been good Like really good. Just a quick recap before we go into the latest news.
In late January, the pre-launch page for issue 2 of 2100 Samurai went live. So far 22 people have signed up to be notified when it goes live. If you have yet to sign up or know someone who should, you can use this link in order to do so. I can’t wait to go live and unleash this wonderful book upon the world. Before we get into it there is one more thing I need to talk to you about.
I did a Con!
And oh what a convention it was! February 25th and 26th I attended The Great Lakes Comic Con in Warren, Mi. Met a lot of great people. Reconnected with some old friends such as William Messner-Loebs and the amazing people at The League of Enchantment. But most of all, I enjoyed meeting all the wonderful people who passed by my table. Many of whom were gracious enough to buy a copy of 2100 Samurai. So many in fact that I sold out of the Regular Edition.
All in all I sold 75 comics. A great showing if you ask me. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hi. I enjoyed seeing each and every one of you.
But now that we are all caught up let’s get into the meat of the news.
2100 Samurai
As of last week, issue 2 of 2100 Samurai is 100% complete. Not just the interiors but also the cover as well.
Speaking of the cover I think it’s about time I unveiled it to the world don’t you think?
She’s a beauty isn’t she?
Special thanks to both Arvell Jones and Eliano Marques for their exquisite work on the cover. I honestly am astonished at how good it turned out.
Like I mentioned earlier, camping launches April 8th. With a goal of $1000, I am hoping to do a print run of at least 500 copies. With your assistance I can make that happen.
If you want a sneak peak of issue 2 and have yet to check out the trailer I highly recommend it. Special shout out to my boy @AnimainSparkstr for his work editing the trailer. Guy did an amazing job.
Expect to see me hitting the rounds on more podcasts in the coming months. I’ve already been on a few already.
So that’s about all there is for 2100 Samurai but I have something special in store for you all.
Super Secret Project
I’ve been cooking up something special for all these past few months. It’s sure to be a hoot. The book’s almost ready to fly out of the barn. But not quite yet.
You can expect a full unmasking upon the release of issue 2. If I say anything more I might as well screech it to the world. And that just wouldn’t be very fun would it?
The Next 3 Months…
If the the first 3 months were were the build up. These next 3 are the execution. I’ll be putting out one book then laying roots for the another. A very busy/important time for me.
And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
March
This month is looking to be the calm before the storm. Issue 2 is done. Character designs and script editing are being done for the Super Secret Project. Aside from that I got various podcasts and interacting with my wonderful twitter followers to look forward to.
April
This is where the dice stop. On April 8th all my work will come to fruition. Succeed or fail, I will do my very best to get this book I’ve worked so hard on out to you all. One way or another it will happen. That is my promise to you.
Besides a nerve racking crowdfunding campaign, I will also be staring full production on my Super Secret Project. I am happy to announce that 2100 Samurai artist Brian Quiroga has agreed to assume Penciling and Inking duties on this book. I’ll be announcing the other members of the team as they are brought on.
May
If all goes well, in this month I’ll be fulfilling the mountain of backers I hope to get on the campaign. This is sure to be a lot of work but I am more than happy to do it. Work will be continuing on the Super Secret Project. The only difference is by the end of the month it will not be such a secret.
The Wrap Up
I got lot more in store for you all this year. I’ll be Monroe Pop Fest in September. My Super Secret Project will be hitting Indiegogo in October. And many more things that I have yet to announce.
Thank you all for joining me on this crazy journey. I look forward to making 2022 my best year yet.
